The Mill Creek farm is located in Johnston county NC laying between the Neuse River and Mill Creek in a low area called Neuse River Islands. This @ 2,000 acre tract has been privately held by the Lane family since the 1950’s, originally used simply for timber farming it was all but inaccessible. Russian razorback hogs were introduced to this area by adjoining landowners in the early 60’s with limited success and only occasionally seen at best. In the 1970-80’s roads were constructed into the property and land was cleared for farming purposes. The Mill Creek Hunt Club came shortly there after as a primarily deer hunting club using a modest clubhouse located on Mill Creek, the club has existed to present day with notable trophies being taken. Two hurricanes Fran and Floyd changed the property forever by displacing many domesticated pigs from farms in NC to the property, they have flourished presenting the club with an uncontrollable number of feral hogs some with suspicious razorback qualities. During this time Mill Creek Club also had a new clubhouse constructed located on a 40 acre sand pit dug by ST Wooten construction co. The new clubhouse is @ 4,000 sq ft with open air inside and loft with many bunk beds, one separate bed room 1 full and 1 half bath.
